Cotton Marginally Mixed on Friday

Cotton futures were mostly 1 to 24 points lower on Friday, as July was up 16 points. All cotton acres were reported at 13.72 million acres by the USDA this morning. That was a 60,000 acre drop form March and slightly below estimates. President Trump and China’s President Xi will meet during the G-20 this weekend to discuss trade. The Cotlook A index for June 27 was up 75 points from the previous day to 77.20 cents/lb. The weekly Average World Price (AWP) from USDA was updated to 58.32 cents/lb through next Thursday, down 82 points from the previous week.

Jul 19 Cotton closed at 63.150, up 16 points,

Oct 19 Cotton closed at 65.750, down 24 points

Dec 19 Cotton closed at 66.080, down 1 point
